先月は7月7日から3日間開かれた北海道洞爺湖サミットでの仕事を、海外各方面からの依頼で行った。EBU（ヨーロッパ放送連合）の依頼で、国際メディアセンター （IMC)に世界各国のテレビ局がライブレポートをするため中継 カメラ4台と人材を準備、3日間フル稼働で対応した。同様にライブカメラをAPTNからも依頼を受け2人が対応、海外向け中継カメラは全部ITMが用意した機材と人員が行った。ほかにはイタリアの局などのためENG４クルー、アルジャジーラ・インターナショナルのコーディネイター等、ITMから総勢17人が現地メディ アセンター入りした。IMCは実際のサミット会場になったホテルとは27キロ離れており、霧にかすんでいただけではなく、遠すぎて現場がよくみえず、中継カメラの背景など、各国のテレビ局には不評であった。（写真はサミット会場とIMC ライブポジション）

Between 7-10 July, we were at the G8 Toyako Summit in Hokkaido, working for our clients from different parts of the world. Prior to the event, we worked non-stop for three full days to set up facilities for live reporting. At the request of EBU, we set up four camera positions and manned our staffs in preparation for live standups by various broadcasters. We also sent two staffs at the request of APTN and set up live camera using our own equipments. For Italian TV, we staffed four ENG crews, and another staff worked as a coordinator for Al Jazeera English. All in all, 17 members of ITM were there at the Media Center, doing their job.

IMC was located more than 27km away from the Windsor Hotel, the actual venue where the leaders met. Veiled behind the mist throughout the meeting and the venue being too far off, we heard broadcasters commenting that it was far from an ideal camera backdrop.
